New Lighting at NETTS
Yes we have light! In early April new LED lighting was installed at our venue, Earls Colne Recreation Club, following a £10,000 grant from Table Tennis England and match funding from other organisations. The lighting is completely flexible, with each row individually dimmable. The highest setting is 1100 lux, which is Olympic standard. The grant was approved in October 2016, and a lighting scheme was chosen in February 2017. The photograph below shows the new lights on the left and the old lights to the right, halfway through installation. You can see the difference on the back wall! A massive thank you to Table Tennis England and to Earls Colne Recreation Club, Essex County Table Tennis Association, Braintree & District Table Tennis League, Braintree District Council and Earls Colne Parish Council, Richard Edwards Group LLP and De Vere Travel for their support.
The new lights are Phase 1 of our “Lifting for Lift Off!” plan. Phase 2 will include new tables and other equipment, with completion by end of July. An “Lift Off!” event was held yesterday to promote the new lights, report to follow.
